I ran across an ad in the May 17, 1950 Cincinnati newspaper for the opening of Glenn Schmidt's in Newport. I think this is the first time I actually knew the date of it's opening. They mention entertainment for the whole family. They don't mention a casino. I guess that would be pushing it, even for Newport.
