I had around $200 in equipment/books and about $60 in ingredients and only ended up making 5 batches all together....but enjoyed making the beer. Then there was the repaint of the small bathroom where my hops lodged up in the blow off tube and I blew the stopper right out of the carboy.....showering hops and beer all over the bathroom ceiling and drywall!!! That was the best batch of beer I made .

I still have all my equipment and I one day I will make beer again
