This past weekend was not a 3-day weekend for me, and as such, I did not plan on being in Vegas.

However, early last month, an un-named Tucson collector (a "car-smith" of sorts) offered me a free ride to Vegas in his truck. I said that I would think about it, as it would require me to take a vacation day because he wanted to leave after work on Thursday.

A week or so later, I got a call from Ford Jensen and he told me that since he was 'Wintering' in Tucson, he had contacted the un-named collector here in Tucson and suggested that they ride together in his Lincoln Continental to the Super Bowl Show, and did I want to come along? Again, I said that I needed to think about it, because now I would need to take a full day and a half off of work, as he wanted to leave at noon time on Thursday.

Well, afetr some discussion with Pam (wife) we decided to make this free ride offer happen, especially since it was Casey's (son) Birthday on Friday (the 3rd). And so we then made plans. Dinner Thursday night, late. The Wrangler's hockey game on Friday (with Casey) at The Orleans Arena, in the Boyd Booth!!! A birthday celebration on Saturday and other miscellaneous things, including attending the SB Show on Friday, because I then made arrangements to meet some collectors and exchange money for chips or pick-up stuff owed.

So, a week before the show, I called Ford to confirm my invitation and as it turned out, he had misplaced the fact that we were all going up there because he had been hospitalized for 11 days when a blood clot moved from his leg to a lung! Geez, forget about the trip, I was shocked that he even survived!! He is doing OK now, and even posted on TheChipBoard a few days ago. (Ford, I am glad you are doing so well!)

I then called the un-named instigator of this trip and said I was good to go and we would meet up Thursday noon at his workplace. Next thing I know, the un-named cabbie herder is contacting me through TheChipBoard to give him a call. I did and he told me that he needed to cancel his trip, and NO, I copuldn't take his truck!

Well, now I was stuck. No ride to Vegas and I had plans. I was lucky that there were flights available, but at the tune of $400 round trip!

Oh well.... This is what I picked up at the Show. Some bought and some picked up from past dealings.

I have one more item to add, but it needs to be photographed. I will post it later today or tomorrow.
