new release 888Poker League Collectable Chips

Hi guys, I thought I'd share with you what we've been doing with collectable chips down under in recent times. A quick background update.........

I work for a company called Full House Group. FHG run in venue entertainment products such as poker, trivia, sports tipping & more. I run the 888Poker League & the Australian Poker League in my home state of South Australia. We operate Free and Buy In poker tournaments in 100's of venues around the country and seat in excess of 60,000 players per week in our tournaments. On the 23rd of February we are about to host our largest tournament yet at Crown Casino where a minimum $500,000 prize pool is up for grabs. Tickets are $1200 each and players can only win their way in, there are no direct buy ins. Not a bad effort for poker players playing at their local watering hole!

Anyway, in our nightly tournaments which run for around 4 hours we give cash prizes, vouchers & also prize packs. In the prize packs there is a small trophy for the winner, another prize for the runner up and 9 collectable chips for the players at the final table. As everyone knows about my obsession with chips, it naturally fell on me to design & order the collectable chips for the final tables and for promotional purposes. These chips are in prize packs in every state in the country and as well we sell occasionally on ebay & through facebook promotions. Whilst these chips may not generate CC & GTCC members, they do encourage a lot of players from our huge database to actively collect chips!

Last year I designed the Royal Flush Series, our 2nd series of collectable chips. All together there were 120 chips in the set with 5 joker chips. There was also the Anniversary series of 6 chips which was used for special promotions. We framed some sets and sold on ebay (all profits go back into tournaments for the players) and some sets reached $100, such was the demand for some of them.

So with the success of the Royal Flush series we kept it going & this year will release the 3rd series of collectable chips. These feature our Main Event, State Champs & 888PL logo. These were supposed to be limited to 24 chips in the three sets you see below. We added denominations so this time players could collect multiples of the same chips & make up small custom chip sets. Unfortunately communication with Chinese manufacturers is sometimes difficult to say the least & while they get it right the majority of the time, sometimes they don’t! We ended up with every coloured inlay on every single coloured chip.....so instead of the 2nd series limited to 24 different chips....we got 192 different ones! Oh well, more for our players to collect grin

Here's our 3rd series of chips. This is how they were supposed to turn out, the same coloured inlay on the same coloured chip. Due to every inlay being placed on every chip there is actually 24 different 1's, 24 different 2.50's, 24 different 5's etc etc.

If you would like to see the full set from the Royal Flush series just check them out on my website.

In addition we repeated the RF series for 2012 our other league, the APL. The same 120 chips (no jokers this time round) just with different front inlay.

If any of you out there collect this sort of thing and want to trade for chips, just let me know.
Alternatively if you‘re interested in buying we have all the sets plus the jokers on Aussie ebay right now!
