A question on values from the past

A year ago roughly maybe even two years ago there was a super chip that was put on ebay and sold for many thousands of dollars. Showboat chip. If memory serves me right it is a one of a kind as all the others were presumed or maybe officially destroyed ?? That chip went to eBay where the price was set at the end of the auction. 5 figures I believe. If you have a one of a kind chip how can you "roughly" get an idea of the value without posting on eBay as I really at this time don't want to sell my chip. Later I am sure I will but not now. Jean, Nevada 1980 - 1982 Sy Reed's Tower Club $1.00 in mint condition.

I welcome any input or feedback either here or by email.

Thanks, Dennis
