I just got this chip from an old friend in Big Bear. He knows I am a collector and has picked up chips for me before. This one was included with some other chips he sent that he got from a fellow VFW member.

The chip appears to be similar to TCR 7899 from the 1940's except that no beige chip is noted. This chip is definitely beige and is a double strike on one side. The chip is dirty but does not appear to be circulated.

I have a second chip like this that is not a double strike that I'm sharing with another collector.

My conclusion is that this one is either an error that slipped by or was a "floor sweeper" that came from "who knows where!" Either way it is an interesting chip!

I would appreciate comments if you have further ideas!
