Question about the high prices of "Drop Chips"

Is it just me or does it seem rediculous to pay $40-$50 for a $4 drop chip from a casino?

Sure they are hard to get now, but once word gets out that they are selling for so much, more and more seem to somehow escape the casino.

much like chaser cards in the sportscard field, those that sold to people for hundreds suddenly became worth just a few dollars a couple of years later when tons of them hit the market and the supply far outweighed the demand.

It seems to me that one would be much better off waiting a little bit till these chips finally hit the market.

Just my opinion.

Am I wrong?
