why not send a cheap modern chip in a LETTER?

I started a thread below where I showed a chart for the new postage rates (starting Sunday; shown below in this post). It developed into a long discussion of rates for bubble mailers. Quite jumbled thread now.

Let me ask this simple question. If you are just sending one or two inexpensive sturdy casino chips, why not put the chips side by side and wrap in paper and tape the package into a regular envelope, or tape it onto a sheet of paper which you put into a regular envelope, or sandwhich between cereal box-type cardboard. If everything is taped (including the edges of the envelope), and the mail piece is no more than 3.5 ounces and 1/4" thick, you pay just the first class LETTER rate PLUS 20-cents for the non-machinable surcharge?

I have been doing this for years and NEVER had anything damaged in the Post Office machinery, and only once or twice had anything lost in the mail!

Cheapest way to send certain chips -- remember inexpensive and modern, so no old clay poker or club chips to be sent that way or old inlaid chips.

What do you think?

Agree 100%
The cardboard may actually help break the chip
