Here's the story in them just in case you missed my original post...
These chips were offered to Luis Alvarez and Lutz, (his partner in the DR) by the owner of the Costa Caribe Casino in the Dominican Republic and previous owner of the Port Royale Casino in Turcs & Caicos. Lutz purchased all 6 pairs that the guy had.

The owner, after closing the casino at T&C, burned the chips, kept a small number of these 2 denominations (100/25) to be used as promotions in the opening of the Costa Caribe in the Dominican Republic. All were used and returned to the casino. They were then burned and 12 chips were kept as souvenirs in the vault which had not been opened until last year, when they asked if he had any obsolete chips around. He said they are the only ones in existence because in the early days, the few people that would take chips as souvenirs only took very low denominations. The chips used as promotions in the DR were all accounted for and destroyed except for 6 of each denomination. This is one of those sets. The other five sets are all in personal collections.
