ZAM ZAM CLUB CHIP HISTORY

Working with the newly arrived Gaming Table, I have already found homes for 11 of my unknown chips. But I found that my "Zam Zam Club" chip is still listed as unknown. So I went on-line and learned that in 1947 one George Rood, considered a top pool hustler went to Norfolk, Virginia, after learning that another hustler had beaten Charles "Norfolk Whitey" Howard, the owner of an illegal gaming club our of $123,000. The story goes on to describe Rood's successes.

The Zam Zam Club is mentioned in an article about Charles “Norfolk Whitey” Howard : http://www.billiardsdigest.com/untold_stories/rainmaker_4.php United States Billiard Magazine.

And see http://www.palmercollector.com/RoodPage.html - the story from the Palmer Collector.com about George Rood coming to Norfolk after learning about Shrivers win from Howard.
