A little known fact [carfare]:

I remember a time between the 5-cent and 10-cent carfare; when a temp sign was taped over the 5-cents reading 7-cents.

I lived on Avenue R and Coney Island Ave. My favorite Candy Store was Mr Cohen's... and the Kingsway movie was 25-cents on Saturdays -- a double feature and 10 cartoons (and you could stay all day if you wished grin ).

It was a time when one could park their car in front of their own house.

Missed a lot, though, as we moved to Long Island when I was an 11-year-old... Lived on Foster Ave just prior to that.
