A few months ago I was reading a news article about an upcoming referendum in Ecuador that their socialist President Rafael Correa proposed which if passed would permanently close and ban all of the casinos and bingo parlors in the country. Does anyone know what the status of this referendum is whether it passed or was defeated? I have some chips from the Hotel Casino Plaza in Quito (Still part of the Best Western chain I believe) and I was wondering if they are worth holding on to.
