Re: two different situations
In Response To: two different situations ()

It is allowed within the rules. It is a useful facility as Ebay allows people to add information to the descripion after the auction has started and even if it has a bid. For example, you may bid on a chip, only for the seller to then add info that advises that the chip is damaged on the reverse - I am not suggesting at all this is the case in your auction, but just noting a scenario when someone would want to then be able to retract their bid.

I have also retracted a bid in the past when I entered the price incorrectly ($200 instead of $20), and am glad that the option was available.

As with other discussions on this board about fees, and the other pros and cons of Ebay, as a seller I may not like every rule that governs Ebay auctions, but I know they are the rules and I make a choice as to whether I use the service or not.
