I must have walked it at night 100s of times or real close to that number and never a problem. I have walked to The Western also and only once turned around as I felt unsafe.
Walked to the Gold Spike many times as well, until they closed their roulette table.

Speaking of the El Cortez I like the steak house there. Old School.
