At least at one point in it's life, it was used as a table leg shim! It looks like it was repositioned many times (the brown cresent shapes) and then when the leg slipped off the edge, a little bite was taken of that edge!

If it was a gaming table, say blackjack or roulette, then this NCV was used for two "gaming" purposes!
