I totally agree with what you say about preferring to collect things that will have future value, but in my opinion that is something no one can ever really estimate unless you're talking about something with intrinsic value... diamonds, gold, etc. Or in the case of coins, something where you know how many were made.
I collect because of the chip art work and I'm a Halloween fanatic, so I collect anything related to Halloween when it comes to my chips. Oddly enough there are a few Halloween LEs, that have far exceeded their face value. I don't remember who but someone posted here long ago with this statement... You know how many chips were made with LE chips. You don't know with table chips. You hear stories about how people suddenly find a hoard of chips in the attic and it takes an expensive chips down to affordable prices. I guess the point I'm making is that nothing is for sure either way. So just enjoy yourself... You can't put a price on that!
