I was a Junior in high school at Peekskill Military Academy, Peekskill NY. I was in my dorm room listenig to WABC AM radio when the first reports came over the air. I can still remember as if it were yesterday the moment of silence and the lowering of the American flag to half staff before we departed for a week off for Thanksgiving. A few of us took a bus to NYC in order to catch the train home. We had our dress uniforms on (similar to West Point uniforms). We were approached by several people making coments like "the Russians did it", "we're at war" and several similar thoughts. I still get a very strange feeling when I think about that day.
