Paterno out within weeks or days at Penn State:
From a teary-eyed Matt Millen, to an irate LaVar Arrington, to a stunned Derek Moye, Penn State players—past and current—are struggling to get their minds and emotions around a salacious sex abuse scandal that is threatening to bring down one of the game’s greatest coaches and the program he built.
Support is fading fast for Joe Paterno, and where it hasn’t eroded, questions about what the coach could have or should have done to stop an alleged sexual predator swarm.
On Tuesday, a high-ranking Penn State official told The Associated Press that the university’s board of trustees appears divided on what should be Paterno’s fate, and a decision could be made before the board meets on Friday. Meanwhile, The New York Times cited unnamed sources saying that Paterno could be forced out within days or weeks.
