In specialty areas, we often have even less information. Take Caribbean chips, my area, where for most areas, there are no reliable value guides that have been produced within the last 10 years (Archie's Puerto Rico guide being the exception), scarce chips only rarely come up for auction and are often completely out of line with pre-recession (or whatever the economy is right now) sales. What are they worth? I have no idea. I generally ask the opinion of my fellow Caribbean chip collectors.
