that we didn't grab any current chips or matchbooks!! (I know, I know...I can't believe it either )
No postcards, no drink glasses, no ashtrays, no coin cups, no china...
We brought home a grand total of 4 chips & about a dozen matchbooks, a couple of swizzle sticks, a few decks of cards, a current menu... pickin's were SLIM!
On a happier note we got 3 old phone books (State 1946; Reno 1958 & 1960), a very cool old Thunderbird slot glass, and some dice that we've never seen before...in addition to the dice lamp that I showed off last week. Oh...and a cool old print of the Ta-Neva-Ho .
I'll post some scans later
I have to admit that we did see some nice chips at Spinetti's, but they didn't appear to be bargains...we didn't make serious inquiries on any of them. We also saw some older matchbooks (antique shop in Reno) that we didn't seriously contemplate, in part because of airline regs that said only one book of matches per person ! We already had more than that, and I wasn't sure they wouldn't confiscate them...didn't want to risk that on any pricey books.
