[There's probably hundreds of stories as to why] ~~~ as in one case (in about early-1920s) where a last meal didn't agree with the person who became very ill and was hospitalized where late complication/reactions to drugs caused further hospitalization where he lived out the remainer of his life.

There was a movement at the time to have the patient deported back to Italy, but that started causing too many problems, locally.
