Heavy gold electroplate is a minimum of 100 microinches thick, or .0001 inches. Gold weighs about 10 troy ounces per cubic inch. If your silver strike has 2 square inches of plated area, it has about .0002 cubic inches of gold, or .002 troy ounces. At $1800 an ounce, the gold is worth about $3.60, or about 36% of the face value of the $10 silver strike!
The problem is, when refining silver, gold is more of a contaminant than a valuable by-product because it's so hard to separate So John is right... it's pretty but impractical to recover. If you want to take the time to scrape the gold plating off before melting the silver, you might be able to recover $2-3 per token. Doesn't value your time very highly, though.
