Palm Beach Jai-Alai opened in 1955 and closed in 1994. In 1978, the original building was burned down by an arsonist. Don King purchased the property in 1999 and was going to build an entertainment complex but ended up putting it up for sale. When the Palm Beach Kennel Club sold the building to Don King, they did not sell the license, so they still have the parimutuel license for it.
