Although rare, I know that there are certain items that are illegal to ship to certain countries..... Italy for instance bans many items being shipped in from the US and other places.

Computer software is also one that often is restricted from the US to foreign countries.

With something like a CD recorder possibly being high technology in third world places, I would check if Mexican customs or manufacturer trade restrictions allow it in.
