Made it peacefully through the night. Woke up to rain, ponding, strong winds and debris (small branches and leaves) everywhere. Irene came ashore directly in NYC with tropical storm winds. Hurricane winds to the east, where we are. I think that we have seen the worst of it in NY, although it will be pretty gnarly for the next few hours. Good luck to those to the north and east.
