sympathize.
Unfortunately we have all ben in a similar situation.
Now you know to always ask before buying on combined shipping as even though its the right thing to do, not all ebay sellers operate that way. many people use shipping fees to cover other costs.
You mention that shipping both in the same envelop and pocketing the savings is stealing. What about someone who charges $1 for shipping and sticks it in an envelope with a .44 cent stamp? Is that also stealing?
There is no ebay rule that all payments for shipping that are above actual shipping costs should be returned. I assume that nowhere did his auctions specify that every lot will be shipped in a seperate envelope?
Please dont take this as being personal as its not meant that way at all. Ebay goes thru great lengths to make sure total prices and shipping fees are clearly stated. Once a bid is made the bidder is obligated to buy at the quoted price. It is not the sellers responsiblity to negotiate with the buyer on a discounted rate.
Your best course of action is do exactly like you say, leave no feedback and make sure to not buy from that seller anymore. While you (Or for that matter most of the chippers) dont like what he did, he didnt do anything that wasnt completely within his rights to do.
If It only costs ne a few bucks to learn a lesson like that, its money well spent.
Hope your future auctions work out better for you.
