I ran into a similiar situation when I went on a western Carribbean cruise. We pulled into the dock and if you didn't want to go on any of the guided tours there was nothing to do except look at the vendors set up in a building on the dock. One had a siver piece of eight for sale at a rather reasonable price. I was really tempted to buy but figured I could always come back later. As I looked at other vendors I discovered that several had not only pieces of eight for sale but the exact same ones. All of the same imperfections were on every one which just would not happen in the real world of antique coin production. Glad I passed.
