why is this a surprise? the USPS is losing money. if an entity is losing money, then costs need to be cut. the status quo clearly isn't working.

all businesses need to figure out how to do things faster, cheaper, better and if you don't , you yield to a competitor. the PS got fat. payrolls got bloated. cuts are needed.

it sucks for all those employed but i also believe (no proof, just opinion) that the USPS probably had a lot of people making way more than they would at other comparable jobs in the private sector.
