Your comment brought back a memory... They were cutting back nurses at the hospital where my wife had worked for 30 years. She came home livid afterward, she complained and complained that they had only laidoff the best nurses they had. Many of her friends got the ax and many lazy ones kept their jobs. The rant went on and on. I asked her if she had been laidoff and she replied, "No."

I said, "Hmmm, I guess that lends credibility to your allegations." It was a week or more before we spoke and a couple of weeks before I got off TV dinners & McDonnalds.

Never make observations to a spouse!
