In reading the inside back cover "About the Author", he seems to be an interesting guy. He lives on what is left of property "deeded" to his Great, Great, (perhaps Great, Great, Great) Grandfather in Santa Monica, CA from Mexico. He is currently researching a book about his family and that land grant! But it was his growing up in Santa Monica and along the coast there that appears to have peaked his interest in the off-shore gambling boats of the day.
