I remember the days when Cats left Port Everglades to Nassau (slots, only) and at least 3 to 4 boats doing a daily crossing to Freeport and Lucaya each day. Some small shippng companies even took on passage out of Palm Beach in the early-70s...

It sure was a nice run while it lasted.
