Time to shop and look around for a much better performance scanner. I got the Epson Perfection V500 Photo at 300 dpi does not go justice to the chip - I look around to enhance the scan to the true chip color.

Your scans as well as Tim Harry are so vivid and live - like waterfalls I can feel the "mist" coming from it.
