... but the t-shirts should be made available to everyone... to wear around in Vegas even when they arrive just before the convention. Case in point, I arrived in Vegas Tuesday (6/21) morning and began playing Hold'em at the Golden Nugget. The dealer, a local who has been dealing some 22+ years (every card game), asked me about my card protector (Las Vegas $5 Paris Roulette Jeton ~ the pretty red one). One thing lead to another about collecting chips and Bingo... he collects casino chips too, but, he didn't know that there was anything such as a casino chip collectors club nor did he even know anything about the casino chip~memorabilia collectors conventions. I told him all that I knew about the and about the chip convention going at at the South Point later in the week. He was surprised and maybe even shocked... to be in Las Vegas his entire life and to have never heard anything about any chip club nor a chip convention.
I've posted on this ChipBoard before about more/better advertising for the , the convention, and casino memorabilia collecting in general. I went to 15 different casinos to play Hold'em during this last convention and discussed 30 to 40 times (dealers, poker room managers and players) about the and the convention... no one ever heard of either. Maybe we should have a contest to see who can come up with a new, simple, relatively cheap, but extremely effective way of advertising for the and the conventions??!!
