...$5K chips taken at the South Point.
Doug Smith E-Mailed the final 12 players & asked whoever took them to mail them to him without a return address. Either the person does or does not. Either way, that will be the end of it. The is never going to take a stand on harvesting & I do not blame them.
There are a LOT of people who harvest roulette & NCV chips. Some will never admit it in fear of having some come down on them. Others like myself, Barry & Norm really don't care if anyone knows we harvest roulette chips. But the three of us would never think of putting the convention in jeopardy, just like I would never take a chance of getting barred from poker tournaments by taking chips.
All in all, in the scheme of things, harvesting matters very little. There are far more important things going on in the world than to have a holier than thou attitude about harvesting chips. One of the nicest guys in the hobby & the reason we are even posting on this board, Greg Susong LOVED to harvest roulette chips. Did that make him a bad guy? Of course not. Some want to make a big statement & say they have never harvested chips, but you can be damn sure they have harvested chips in their collections. They just bought them instead of harvesting them & use that loophole to think they are above it all.
Out of ALL of the posts about this, Steve Bedo said it best as far as I am concerned.
"if you feel that by securing and / or collecting these casino items, you are breaking some law or contributing to the moral bankruptcy of your world, don't collect them."
As Gene would say..."I am done"...everyone else can have the last word.
