They were released during the WSOP that year. I was playing in a 7 card stud satellite & Marsha Waggoner walked up to me with one in hand. She said that they spelled Stuey's name wrong. I looked at it & said they sure did. A guy at the next table said it was not wrong. I said do you want to bet? He said he would bet $500. At that exact moment the dealer tells me it is my turn to act. I look down at rolled up 10's & checked out who was in the hand at that point & then raised. Then I turn around & the guy who wanted to bet is looking up at the wall in front of him with all of the past champions pictured. Of course he is looking directly at Stuey's picture with his name spelled correctly! He turns to me & says no bet.

I always wondered if those rolled up 10's & the extra time checking out the table & then raising cost me $500 because it gave the guy time to see Stuey's picture on the wall. Marsha told me later she knew the guy & he would have even bet more as he was a high roller.

I did win the satellite though!
