As soon as the tournament was over, the poker room manager started racking up those chips and it was determined those chips were missing in very short order. I doubt very seriously that an observer standing near the table would have been able to grab any chips. There was a dealer there as well and it's their job to watch the table.
I hope whoever took chip(s) does return them soon. That behavior obviously reflects poorly on our group/convention as well each and every one of us.
I was thinking a few of those chips made it into play when the tournament was down to two tables.
I think we ought to have a page devoted in our next club mag that mentions this situation with a request for those to be returned.
[*] This would help inform those at the final two tables that do not frequent this board that a big stink as come out of their actions.
[*] Additionally it would serve as informational announcement all of our membership how important it is not to do the same in future years.
[*] Finally it would further demonstrate to the SouthPoint that our club is taking this seriously.
