First of all club members that harvest 99% do it for collecting, and never go back and cheat with the chip or chips. Some harvest to sell. Now, I might harvest, and probably 70% of our members harvest. This % hard to prove as many won't admit. Yes, the chips belong to the casinos and it is stealing to take Rou. and NCV chips, but House chips are sold from cage to collectors every day, as a profit center. They make $ on Comm. and house chips taken, as cost to produce are less than 1.00 each, so fractionals might be a looser for casino. It is a part of our hobby that each member has to make his/her own decision. If you feel it's ok and enjopy the risk go for it. If you think it is wrong don't do it. Remember, that if caught you can be banned from the casino, however most casinos just make you return chips and a warning. I have never seen a club rule in writing that say's do not harvest. Some members are well known in the industry, so they would never admitted on a public board if they do. Now at our convention it is very important not to harvest as we are guests, with a lot at stake for our club, in future years to hold our conventions. The 5,000.00 chips are a real threat for a future poker tour. to come back into game as cheating. The manager had the right to be very upset. It would be wrong for any member to tell you to harvest chips. Your call. Remember many buy NCV and Rou. chips, but don't harvest.
