I would suggest check around and see if you can come up with a venue equal to or surpassing the accommodations of the South Point for a cheaper or equal price. Places like the Riv, Palace Station and equivalent are not on an equal playing field and you will find the room rates higher when wanting the convention space we are given. What you are not getting is convention space is very expensive. The South Point has fantastic convention space which is perfect for our club.
Michael Gaughn knows how to get people in and keep them there. I am sure he had a good teacher.

I at one time tried to get convention space for a bridge tournament, just one small room and the room rates went up tremendously. I checked at the time all over Vegas, many many places. They will not sell you the room nights for the same price when they are giving away the convention space.
