One of the guys that plays in my home poker game is one of the people in charge of the homeless shelters and tent city here in Toledo. I just happened to think one day about all of the traveling that I do, and asked Ken if they could use the little hotel soaps and shampoos. His answer was "Oh God Yes!"

I have since gathered all of my old casino soaps, and shampoos along with a collection of other assorted hotel giveaway stuff like combs, toothbrushes and shaving creams that have been in tupperware boxes in my basement for years. I even got together a big bunch of moist towelettes.

Then I got to thinking about all of you....my fellow casino stuff collectors, and frequent visitors to hotels.

I am asking everyone to please think about donating these sorts of toiletry items to our homeless shelters.

For me, I rarely ever take any of these things home with me and haven't for years. But that's no lonmger the case now that I realize how much they are needed. Now, I gather all I can get my hands on and pass them on to those that can really use them, and need them.

I you have any items like this that you would like to donate, please consider shipping them to me. Or if you will be at the Super Bowl show this year, you can pass them on at that time and I will get them home. I'll be bringing an extra suitcase this year just for this.

It's funny how we all take certain things for granted. I just wish I had thought of it years ago.
