I got a great rate on my car in Vegas this week. The bad news is when I went to check in they had my frequent flyer number on the reservation as well as a $8 charge for it that was added to my overall price at the counter. I told them I wasn't going to pay for them to use my flyer number and to just take it off. The counter guy tried but could not remove the charge. his supervisor couldn't remove it. I called the customer service people 4 times. The first time the lady said she could not help so I asked for her supervisor. Fifteen minutes later I was still on hold. The next two times I got "accidentially" disconnected somehow. The fourth time I asked to speak with a supervisor directly and was put on permanent hold again. When I got home I was going to call again but it just ain't worth the aggravation. But be forwarned to not include your frequent flyer number when renting a car unless you are willing to pay for the privledge.
