Here are 2 half dollars. They are real half dollars. One is gold plated and the other is platinum plated. I am sure they plating is not very heavy. Sort of like the gold plating on some $200 strikes. I don't know what there are worth. They just don't fit into my collection.

The Gold Plated one is dated 1977 - however it is also dated 1960 - 1985 (hand stamped for some reason)
