I know many of you have seen these posts on my Facebook account but I know some of you (Mr. Bedo being one) isn't on FB so I'm posting this news here...
I played in three tournaments at WSOP so far.
On Saturday, I bought into the $1500 Event 32. It started at noon and I played about 8 levels (each level one hour in length). We had 2,828 players in this event! The top 297 players "cash" or make money. I got knocked out around 500 players left. I really played great and had a good time. For most of the day and all evening until I got knocked out, I played with Joe Cada, 2009 WSOP Main Event Champ, on my left. Here is a photo of us both in a hand:
With my loss on Saturday, I really hadn't planned to play in any other events unless I won my way into it. John Basterache is a floor manager at the WSOP and has been a very close friend of mine for several years now. He suggested I play in a satellite tournament Sunday morning. I played in that and won. The was good enough buy in half of my entry fee for event 34.
Event 34 ($1000 event) had 3144 players in it and top 323 were in the money. I played all day and we just wrapped up day #1 and we all actually got in the money on the last hand dealt for the day. Going into day #2 tomorrow, we will have 323 players. I am very short stacked and have slim hopes for going very deep. I need a quick couple double ups first thing tomorrow!
