Obviously boredom had set it. I took a chip which looked great. Most would not think it needed a thing.
Well I cranked out the buffing wheel on my drill press and added a bit of baby gel. Voila - a new 80 year old chip.
Disclaimer: do not try this with a molded chip or even a plain mold chip without a protective clear celluloid covering. You can't tell from the scan but the surface of the inlay is mirror like. Same thing happens when you bring your car to be compounded - micro scratches diswappear
