Now I'm more confused than normal. When the first issue Sahara $100 when seen in one of these infamous chip boards, I believe is was seen as a unique, one-of-a-kind surviving chip of that issue. I thought that another was later discovered which sold at auction for $70,000.
As many of you noticed yesterday, that may not be accurate information. Walt Gonski, a very well respected member of the chipping community posted that the record price paid for a chip actually was $100,000+ and it was for the second issue Sahara $100, not this chip. So...I'm not sure if any other example of this chip exists or not. I'm also not sure how the value of this first issue Sahara $100 compares to the value of a second issue Sahara $100, assuming they were in identical condition.
Any further clarification would be welcomed and appreciated. Regardless, I think you'll agree that this is a gorgeous, classic Las Vegas chip.
This chip and the others posted will be available at Table #18 at this year's convention. I'm headin' west tomorrow morning. Hope to see many of you in about a week. Safe travels to all.
Enjoy the view !!
