Yes, they are upgrading the food with a carving station, etc. If you have 25,000 points, its still free. Thats a heck of alot of points though to maintain; at least for me it is. I like staying at a low diamond with 11,000 points or so and enjoying the lounge. Without the lounge perc, the diamond card is worthless in my opinion.
