Re: Missouri River Flood - Council Bluffs Casinos

HAD to post this, thinking about the problem….(I know it is VERY NCR)

With the regularity of flooding in the Mississippi system and the draught in the western states one would think a huge engineering project could be done to mitigate both situations.

Could a canal with pumping stations be made to move water across the United States? Like I said it may not solve the problem but it might reduce damages and ANY water sent to the western states would be a godsend to them and agriculture. In Texas and many other states there are huge irrigation canals that pump huge amounts of water and is a long canal feasible? Look at the intracoastal ship channel, it goes from the tip of Texas around Florida and up to New York. THAT project would sure put a lot of people to work and be a huge asset to the production of goods. Look at the billions spent annually on damages.
