the chips that were in the vault/bank will be destroyed along with the chips that are presently being turned in (redeemed) at Circus Circus. And again, while anything is possible, I tend to doubt that older (obsolete) chips were in the vault. I say this because for many years, when older chips were brought in, the persons trying to cash them in were referred to one or more employees that would acquire the better ones.

As for the destruction process, when the Stardust was imploded and the heavy machinery was brought in to make way for Echelon Place (currently mothballed) they found old Stardust chips in the foundation and Gaming was brought in to observe the removal and subsequent destruction of the find. My point being is that it appears Gaming is more engaged with the destruction process than they once were.

But, for the 3rd time, anything is possible!
