I think the year was 1998. The El Rancho had been closed for a few years, homeless people and animals had been living in there for some time. They had a sale, I'm sure some on the board may remember. I heard of people finding old chips there. My plan was to go to the hotel and walk around the rooms and check places people may have hid chips from their wife and forgot about them at checkout. I'm thinking closets, under lose carpet etc.

The sale was in the July heat. I thought I would start on the top floor and work my way down. I told the guy in the elevator about my chip hunt and he also said some people have found chips. I got off on the 6th floor. The stench was unbearable and some of what I had seen wasn't pretty.

I walked down as fast as I could, bought some bingo boards, room keys and whatever else they had and got out of there. But it was fun. LOL
