Because of work I will be unable to attend the convention this year. I would like to place bids on several items and am not totally sure on how to properly do it. My first question deals with what is the difference between an advance and a proxy bid. The second deals with how would my bid be recorded. If an item has a starting bid of $100 and I want to bid up to $150. If there are no bids on the item currently would my bid start at $100 or $150.

Any help would be appreciated.
