offered the opportunity to keep his/her previous membership number by paying their back dues. If they choose not to, they are issued a new membership number. Over the past several years, we have had several members pay to have their former numbers restored. A membership number is not a reflection of how long you have been a part of the hobby, but how long you have been a member of the . This also coincides with a person's tenure in order to become a "Life Member".
You are certainly welcome to forward your suggestion to the members of the club's BoD for further discussion, but, personally, I hope that it remains the way that it is currently.
